Life in the “Learn” Lane

On the suggestion of our very own DC Darlin’, I recently took a character analysis test to define my top ranking personality characteristics.  I, for one, find it incredibly difficult to analyze ones ownself, however I’d like to think that this test in some indication of the truth.  I will say, for the record, that I did opt for what is deemed the ‘brief version.’ So, without further ado, my results!

What I find interesting, and relevant as of late, is that my number one indicates curiosity.  The eternal student. I’ve spent most of my life actually enrolled as a student, grade school, middle, high, college AND Masters—finishing all shiny and educated (and in major debt) at the ripe young age of 24.  I remember the unbeleivably amazing feeling of receiving my last degree; crossing the finish line to accomplishment! But even more so, I remember the moment I realized that regardless of my enrollment status and tax withholding, I will never escape the ever-exciting and ever-frustrating realities of being a student.  No, I’m not referring to the hundreds of dollars I’m paying in student loans every single month (although that is a nice little reminder).  I’m referring to the realization that every day creates challenges and new opportunities to learn. Not all that hippie ‘student-at-life’ crap—although I would like to think of myself as open and welcoming of such—-but rather the hard smack realization that all that schooling only taught me enough to get me through graduation. The world—and my profession even more so—is everchanging every single day.  As I get older, I realize it’s more difficult to be apprised to ‘pop culture’, new tactics, technologies, etc., and so on and so forth.  All I can say is thank goodness for Amazon and its top rated used book sellers.  🙂

More to come on this topic as I engage in further curiosity and learning.
